I purchased a washer and dryer unit from the HHGregg store located in Kennesaw, Ga in 2003. Last week my dryer broken down, so I called the store located in Smyrna, Ga because I wasn't sure which store I purchased from. I explained my concern and that I was requesting warranty information on my dryer. The cust rep told me I had a 10 year warranty on my unit and she proceeded to give me the 800# to schedule for an appointment. I called the number and that rep verified my warranty and gave me a date for 8/4/06, between the hours of 8am-12pm for a repair person to come to my home. No one showed up. My husband called the 800# and was advised there was no warranty coverage on my dryer and that the appointment was set up for a repair to my washer, not my dryer. I called both HHGregg stores and found out there is no ticket/record of my purchasing a washer and dryer in 2003. I was given another 800# number to call their service department/warranty dept. I spoke with someone named Dee and we did a 3 way call with the store in Smyrna. After an hour, I realized the rep, Dee, was no longer on the line. I called her back and though I was told it was a National call center, I still got Dee on the line, the first time calling. She said she would make a dummy file and to make sure I call her back on Saturday, 8/5/06 at extension 14082. I tried calling her back and was told numerous times there was no one there by that name and there was no such extension! I eventually tried calling Dee again and was told 'Hold on, she is here, but I'm having problems trying to connect you to her' and that Dee would call me back. No call came to me. I was told in order for my dryer to be fixed, it would cost me $60 for a diagnosis and extra for labor and the repairs. I feel as though I should not have to pay for services because I was given wrong information in the beginning--I needed my dryer fixed, not the washer and because they did not keep a record of my purchase.
